Product Description

Thin Black Sequin Lace – 7 mm Cord Braid Trim

A thin black sequin lace that gives an edge a fine line of shine. The base is a black cord, braided into a smooth, wavy scroll. Clusters of round black sequins sit along both sides of the scroll, so light catches the edge from every angle.

Black on black keeps it rich, not loud. The sequins have a soft gloss against the matt cord. Under lights the trim sparkles, and in daylight it looks like a neat, textured line.

At just 7 mm, it works like sequin piping. It fits places a wider lace can’t: around a blouse neckline, along a placket, on a sleeve hem or as an outline next to a heavier border.

Where to use it

  • Blouses: around the neckline, the back neck or the sleeve hems
  • Sarees: as a fine black sequence lace border along the pallu, or as an outline next to a wider lace
  • Kurtis and suits: on the neckline, the placket, the yoke or the daman
  • Dupattas: along the edges for a light sparkle
  • Dresses and gowns: on the waistline, the straps or seams
  • Jackets and Indo-western sets: as piping on the lapel, the cuffs or the hem
  • Craft and décor: on hair bands, clutches, gift boxes, cards and festive décor

Loved by boutique owners, fashion designers and DIY creators

  • Boutique owners use it to outline necklines and finish black blouses quickly.
  • Fashion designers use this sequin braid trim to trace seams, yokes and panel lines on party wear.
  • Saree and dupatta makers pair it with a wider lace as a fine sparkling edge.
  • DIY creators and fashion students use it on hair accessories, bags and craft projects, where a slim trim is easier to shape.

Why it works

The scroll cord bends easily. It follows curved necklines and round shapes without bunching.
Sequins on both sides catch more light. The trim shines from the front and from an angle.
7 mm keeps it subtle. It adds detail without taking over the outfit.
Black matches everything. It works on black, white, gold and bright festive colours.

Key Features

  • Thin black sequin lace, 7 mm wide
  • Wavy scroll cord braid with black sequins on both sides
  • Works as sequin piping on necklines, plackets and seams
  • Flexible, follows curves easily
  • For blouses, sarees, kurtis, dresses and crafts
  • Sold in 2 metre packs, with bigger lengths available

How to Use

  1. Measure the edge or line you want to trim. Add 2 cm extra for the ends.
  2. Cut with sharp scissors. Stitch across each cut end so the cord does not unravel and the sequins stay in place.
  3. Pin or tack the trim along the line, easing it gently around curves.
  4. Stitch through the centre of the cord with black thread, by hand or by machine with a zipper foot. Keep the needle away from the sequins.
  5. Tuck the ends under, or finish them into a seam.
  6. Do not iron on the sequins. Press the fabric from the wrong side on low heat.

FAQs

Q.What is thin sequin lace used for?
A.It is used as a fine sparkling outline, like piping, on necklines, sleeve hems, plackets, saree borders and craft work.

Q.How wide is this lace?
A.It is 7 mm wide.

Q.Is this the same as sitara lace?
A.Sitara lace is the Hindi name for sequin lace. This is a slim version: a cord braid with sequins, not a wide lace border.

Q.Can I stitch it on curves?
A.Yes. The scroll cord bends easily, so it follows round necklines and curved shapes.

Q.How much lace comes in one pack?
A.One pack has 2 metres. For more, choose a bigger length from the options above.

Q.If I order 2 packs, will I get one 4 metre piece?
A.No. Each pack is a separate 2 metre piece. For one longer piece, choose a bigger length from the options.

Q.How do I wash it?
A.Dry clean is best for garments with sequin trims. If washing at home, hand wash gently in cold water and dry in the shade. Do not iron on the sequins.
