Product Description

Black Pleated Sequin Lace, 1.5 cm

A black pleated sequin lace with black and silver sequins, 1.5 cm wide.

The base is a sheer black net, folded into neat box pleats all along the length. Down the centre runs a single row of round sequins, mixed in black and silver. The black sequins add a soft gloss, and the silver ones catch the light, so the trim sparkles without looking loud.

The pleats give it body and texture. It is not a flat line but a small, frilled edge that stands slightly off the fabric. This is the kind of sitara lace that adds shine to festive wear and evening wear in one step.

At 1.5 cm, it is a slim black sequin lace, ideal for necklines, sleeve hems and fine borders.

Where to use it

  • Sarees: as a black sequin lace border on the pallu or along the hem
  • Blouses: on the sleeve hems, the back neck or around the neckline
  • Dupattas and stoles: along the edges for a light sparkle
  • Kurtis and suits: on the neckline, the placket or the daman (hem)
  • Party dresses and tops: at the neckline, the waist or the straps
  • Lehengas and skirts: as a fine line above a wider border
  • Kids’ party wear: on frocks and jackets
  • Craft and décor: on gift boxes, cards, hair bands and festive décor

Loved by boutique owners, fashion designers and DIY creators

  • Boutique owners use it to give black blouses and suits a quick festive finish.
  • Fashion designers use this pleated sequin trim on party dresses, gowns and Indo-western sets.
  • Saree and dupatta makers use it as a fine sequin border next to a wider lace.
  • Kids’ wear brands use it on party frocks, where a slim, light trim works best.
  • DIY creators and fashion students use it on hair bands, bags and festive crafts.

Why it works

Pleats add texture. A flat sequin line can look plain. Pleated net gives a soft frill that adds depth.

Black and silver sparkle together. The mixed sequins shine under lights but still look elegant in daylight.

Sheer net keeps it light. It does not weigh down chiffon, georgette or net fabrics.

1.5 cm suits fine details. It sits neatly on necklines, sleeve hems and narrow borders.

How to Use

  • Measure the edge you want to cover and add 2 to 3 cm extra for the ends.
  • Cut the lace with sharp scissors. Tie off the sequin thread at each cut end so the sequins do not slide off.
  • Fold each end under and stitch it flat.
  • Pin the lace in place, keeping the sequin row straight and the pleats even.
  • Stitch along the sequin line with black thread, by hand or by machine with a small stitch. Do not pull the
  • thread too tight, or the pleats will flatten.
  • Do not iron on the sequins. Press the fabric from the wrong side on low heat.
